This is where I'll review every book I read this year.

White Night by Jim Butcher

Rating: 4/5

A decent sequel in the dresden files series, although the title does sound pretty bad out of context. As with all the books in this series they are best when you consider them on the same level as random action movies. Some silly fun without any deep themes.

Mordew by Alex Pheby

Rating: 4.5/5

An inventive world combining Oliver Twist with lovecraftian horrors. While the latter half of it was a little boring overall I think this was easily one of my favorite books so far!

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams

Rating: 4/5

I strangely have not read this before. I've seen the movie multiple times and enjoyed it, I've attempted to play the game, but this is my first time reading it. Overall I enjoyed the book but it was a little short compared to what I was expecting.

Wyrd Sisters by Terry Pratchett

Rating: 4/5

I am a long time Terry Pratchett fan. This book did not disappoint, an interesting plot with tons of fun jokes that made me actually laugh! I am excited to read the next book starring these witches.

Going Postal by Terry Pratchett

Rating: 5/5

Second Pratchett book in a row! This was one of the first books of his I read and really got me into discworld. The foil of Reacher Gilt to the protagonist, the humor, the sincere look at the postal service. All of this makes this book one of the best in the series. Highly recommend if you have the time to read it.

Greatest Hits by Harlan Ellison

Rating: 4/5

An interesting collection of Ellison's short stories. The author is... hard to talk about. He was a great author but a real asshole in his life. That said this collection did surprise me at times. The basic synopsis of any story wont tell you about the tone, and he frequently surprised me with how he presented his plot and characters.

Making Money by Terry Pratchett

Rating: 4/5

A decent sequel to Going Postal, a little less interesting overall but I love the main character's changes from the first book. Not as good of a villain as Reacher Gilt, but Cosmo Lavish does have a couple moments that make him fun. But does have the funniest "shameful hidden past" for a character (no spoilers though). Overall a fairly good book but a mediocre discworld book.
